We use a combination of venison and whole pheasant, including all the meat, breast, thigh, leg etc when making our recipe. The venison is all wild and is humanely harvested from our land. The pheasants have been raised by us, we have fed them (mainly wheat) out in the woods. They have been free to fly around, roam and forage on their own. They have led a super healthy outdoor life, so have NOT been given any antibiotics or hormones.

The game mix in our recipe contains a number of minerals and vitamins:
Fresh seasonal vegetables provide fibre and help support vitamin K synthetization and colon health in your dog. These vegetables contain carotenoids, flavonoids, antioxidants, and many other phytochemicals that are beneficial to immune function and health. Note that these phytochemicals are not found in any other food sources other than plant ingredients.
We have added a small amount of pumpkin seeds (not sourced locally). The nutritional benefits are found in vitamins E and K, minerals zinc, iron, and magnesium and antioxidants. They are a healthy source of essential fatty acids, particularly linoleic acid which supports skin and coat health. It is a source of protein and fibre. Pumpkin seeds also contain cucurbitin, an amino acid that has natural deworming properties. Pumpkin seeds can also help support the urinary health of dogs.
A small amount of organic kelp (kombu) has been added. This is a source of Iodine – which provides a number of functions: regulates hormones & supports hormonal balance, supports optimal immune function, essential for healthy hair, protects thyroid, manages energy levels, exerts cancer-protective effects notably in digestive tracts. We have sourced our kombu kelp, Laminaria digitata, from a certified organic supplier. Whilst we only add a small amount of kelp do note if your dog has thyroid issues, carefully consider whether this is for your dog.

Please note this recipe may contain shot. Whilst we have done our best to remove any shot or pellets from the game it is possible that some might remain in the bowl. Our dogs as a rule just leave the pellets behind. All the shot is non-toxic, so if ingested will pass through the dog in its poo.
Prior to serving we sometimes add in warm water to the bowl to warm up the dog meal.
